In the present study, we propose a facile and generic methodology to quantitatively probe the efficiency of porous hollow fiber membrane module (PHFMM) with aid of stiff-spring approach. The corresponding application of PHFMM in this study is extraction process of heavy metals contaminant. The predictions of this idea modeling were validated with the experimental data obtained from literature for Cu+2 removal with a kerosene solution of di(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) in wastewater treatment. Stiff spring method was used to solve the model equations of two-dimensional transient diluted species transport through an extractive hollow fiber membrane contactor (HFMC). CFD simulation reveals that the modeling predictions were in good agreement with the experimental data for different values of diluted species concentration. The effect of equilibrium partition coefficient on membrane efficiency and exit concentration was investigated. It was shown that the model diverged for some values of equilibrium partition coefficient, when non-stiff methods is utilized. The model was completely stable and results are in good agreement with the experimental data by using stiff-spring method
