چکیده:

ZnO/ITO interface nanostructure composite films were successfully prepared by sol-gel deposition of ZnO onto indium tin oxide (ITO) glass substrates. Zinc oxide film photocatalyst was fabricated via polyethylene glycol (PEG) aided sol–gel route using zinc acetate, 2-methoxyethanol and monoethanolamine as starting materials, spin coating and heat treatment. The obtained ITO/ZnO composite films were characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The photocatalytic activity of ZnO/ITO composite films were investigated using Direct Sky Blue 5B (C. I. Direct Blue 15) as a model organic compound under UV light irradiation. The influence of operating parameters on Direct Sky Blue 5B degradation including pH value of solution, PEG content and layers of ZnO thin film were examined. 2%PEG/ZnO/ITO thin film showed an interesting decolorization performance, as denoted by an attenuation degree of 98% and decolouration rate, assuming an apparent first order reaction, reaching 3.01×۱۰-۲ min-1
