In this work the photocatalytic degradation of nonionic surfactant Triton X-100 was studied by a batch process using ZnO nano particles. Comparison of ZnO nanoparticles and its ZnO commercial powders on the photocatalytic degradation of Triton X-100 was investigated. The effects of process parameters such as initial surfactant concentration, nanocatalyst weight, initial solution pH and degradation Trition X-100 in the presence of electron acceptors like potassium peroxydisulfate have been systematically investigated. The obtained results demonstrated a high photocatalytic activity of nanosize zinc oxide particles.
