چکیده:

In this study, a 2-pack acrylic-based polyurethane clear coat were selected. The precipitated nanosilica embedded into polyurethane coating using blending method in order to improve the properties of the resultant nanocomposite coatings. The morphological characteristics of the coating were investigated using scanning electron microscopy. The mechanical properties of the coatings were studied intensively by using pendulum hardness, scratch, abrasion, impact and cross-cut tests. It was found that addition of nanosilica particles into polyurethane enhanced the hardness, abrasion and scratch resistance and had no effect on the impact resistance and adhesion strength of coatings.
