In the present study, specific binding and controlled release of trinitroglycerin (TNG) to and from a novel molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was investigated. The polymer nanospheres were prepared with using precipitation polymerization. The Polymer particles characterized by means FTIR and morphology of nanospheres were studied using field emission electron microscopy (FESEM) and it was shown that nanospheres had a spherical shape and mooth surface. Optimization of various imprinting components and binding characteristics of TNG by the novel MIP were examined in detail. The binding affinity of TNG for MIP was found to be greater than that for non-imprinted polymer (NIP). In vitro release experiments showed that MIP releases drug in intestinal fluid with a controlled manner.
