چکیده:

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were synthesized via arc discharge in dilute aqueous solutions of Fe2(SO4)3 and FeCl3. The effects of iron concentration (up to 0.25 M) on the process yield and structure of MWCNTs were studied by Raman spectrometry and transmission electron microscopy observation. It is shown that there is an iron-concentration window, in which the nanotube formation is favored. The highest crystallinty and overall CNT quality are obtained at the iron concentration of 0.5 M. The influence of onion concentration, i.e. sulfate and chloride onions, on the CNTs formation is presented.
