چکیده:

In this paper, the size dependency of the yield strength of nanoporous materials containing cylindrical nanovoids is investigated. The size dependent behavior is attained by incorporation of surface stress effects on the voids surfaces. A surface elasticity model is incorporated in the generalized self-consistent method to obtain a closedform expression for effective moduli of the transversely isotropic nanoporous materials comprised of incompressible matrices. Using the effective elastic properties, an energy-type size-dependent yield function for such nanoporous
materials under in-plane loadings is derived. Also, performing numerical examples for a nanoporous aluminium alloy, it is shown that the surface stress has a crucial influence on the yield surfaces of nanoporous materials when the voids radii are smaller than 10 nm.
