چکیده:

In the study, nanoparticles nickel ferrite (NiFe2O4) powder was successfully prepared from an aqueous solution containing ferric chloride and nickel chloride salts by a co-precipitation route. In the co-precipitation synthesis we used aqueous solutions of sodium hydroxide as the precipitating agent and oleic acid as a chelating agent of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles. The precipitates were washed several times with deionized water and acetone until the washings were free from chloride ions. The product was dried in oven for overnight at 80 ◦C. The powder was calcined at 800 ◦C for 3 h with a heating rate of 10 ◦C min−1 and then cooled to room temperature. The as-prepared samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). SEM indicated that the size of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles were spherical and showed that the average size of the nickel ferrite nanoparticles is smaller than ~ 40 nm.
